How do I get to Mighty Fins Swim School?
All of our programs are hosted inside the Genesis Health Clubs—Goddard location. This facility is home to a newly built natatorium, complete with a 10-lane, 25-yard competition pool and a practice pool perfect for swim lessons.
Genesis membership is not required to participate in Mighty Fins Swim School.
We’re located about 5 minutes outside of Wichita. Just take Kellogg to Goddard – we’re on the south side of the highway!
What ages do you accept?
We currently accept ages 4 months to 12 years, with hopes of expanding our program in the future!
How big are your classes?
Our class size can vary based on the session. Each class has anywhere from 1 to 4 students. Level 1: Water Babies classes are the exception with higher ratios. This is because they are parent-participation classes.
This limited size allows us to offer personalized attention and progress tracking for your child and develop trust with the students.
How much does it cost to enroll my child?
Please visit our pricing page for details.
What level of swimmer is my child?
Each child’s swim journey is different—we all learn at a different pace. We are more than happy to discuss your child’s comfort level in the water, the abilities they already have, and your goals for them! This will help us determine what lessons your child should be enrolled in. Please reach out to us to get the conversation started!
What if my child takes more time to learn?
Every child learns at their own pace!
Don’t worry, we won’t push your child along if they aren’t ready.
They won’t move to the next level until we’re confident in their progress and abilities. We also offer 2x a week options if they need extra practice!
Where do I go on my first day?
Please arrive 10 minutes early to stop for a restroom break and change before your lesson.
Upon arrival, please make your way past the front desk to the natatorium located between Blast Off Bay and the Hampton Inn. Enter the main doors to find the restrooms and the changing room.
Once you and your swimmer are ready, head to the smaller lap pool located in the back of the natatorium. Parents and siblings not attending the class should retreat to the observation deck above.
I’m a parent, where do I go during the lessons?
If you’re not in the Level 1: Water Babies class, parents and siblings are required to retreat to the observation deck above. We understand it can be difficult to watch your child struggle and exciting to watch them succeed. However, it is important that the child’s focus is primarily on the instructor to build trust and a relationship in order to focus and learn.
What should my child wear to swim class?
All children must wear a snug-fitting swim diaper if they are not fully potty trained, along with a comfortable swimsuit. We also recommend bringing a towel, goggles (optional), and a change of clothes.
Are there changing rooms?
Yes, we have several restrooms at the main entrance of the natatorium: a private stall, a locker room with toilets and showers, and a multi-stall restroom.
Do you offer lessons for kids with disabilities?
Yes, we have instructors with experience in behavioral therapy for children with ASD, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and more. Please contact us for information on scheduling adaptive lessons for your child!
